Precision Gauging

Increased accuracy requirements for small and complex assemblies as well as the need to automate measurements from Catia V.5 CAD data and to do surface scanning have led the company Josef Hofmann Modell- und Leuchtentechnik GmbH to set up a new precision measurement laboratory in the 4th quarter of 2011 and to put it into operation after careful training of metrologists.

In an air conditioned room with restricted access, a Carl Zeiss Contura G2 RDS was installed. This, in conjunction with a VAST XXT sensor and the RDS articulating probe enables surface scanning with high accuracy. Moreover the 2-D optical measurement system ViScan allows measurement of 2-D geometries with high resolution and accuracy.
