A CAD data set is presented in a way that volume cuts occur at the desired thickness. On the construction platform a powerful UV laser exposes a photopolymer that hardens in the exposed areas. Then the construction platform is lowered by one layer thickness and the next layer is exposed. After exposing all layers, post-crosslinking takes place in a UV oven followed by a manual finishing of the STL parts.

Due to their excellent surface SLA parts are ideal for creating silicone molds for vacuum casting. By applying superfinish and high gloss paint to the master pattern even reflectors can be manufactured.

An EOS Stereosmax 600 is used. The layer thickness is 0.15 mm.
